Mohsin Hasan wants young spinner in World Cup squad

The 4th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) unearthed an exciting young prospect in the shape of Umer Khan, a 19-year-old spinner who proved to be the find of the tournament eventually.

The young spinner impressed everyone with his clever bowling in the PSL as he removed world class batsmen like AB de Villiers, Shane Watson, and others.

Chairman of the cricket committee, Mohsin Hasan Khan has backed the spinner to feature in the World Cup squad for Pakistan this year. He feels that Umer has the confidence and control to perform well at the highest level.

“He has a confident body language, he has variations, he can take wickets and can also bowl to contain runs. If you ask me I will seriously consider him for my 15-man squad,” he added.

The expected dry English summer would surely make things interesting in the World Cup this year as spinners would play a major role on surfaces which generally favour the pacers.
