Mohammad Hasnain, the exuberant pacemen, played a pivotal role in helping Quetta Gladiators in winning this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL). Claiming 12 scalps in 7 games, the pace sensation proved his mettle.
Unlike PSL, Hasnain wasn’t able to deliver after being fast-tracked to the national team. In the 3 ODIs against Australia, the 19-year old picked only two wickets at 78. The fruitless displays raised many questions concerning the rookie player.
However, legendary cricketer and former captain Wasim Akram came to his rescue as he feels that Hasnain has immense potential to replicate his domestic form to the International cricket.
Sharing his views on the Pakistan Television (PTV) player, the 52-year old added that all the comments regarding Hasnain’s age are irrelevant. The Lahore born moved to cite his and Waqar Younis’ examples as both of them made a debut at a young age.
The Karachi Kings President is of the view that there isn’t any need to hold Hasnain back as our domestic cricket doesn’t have the quality to hone him nicely. Moreover, Wasim Akram wants Hasnain to stay with the national team as it would aid him to ameliorate his fitness and skills.
