In a last over thriller at the Rawalpindi cricket stadium, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) knocked out the star studded team of Sindh. KPK batted first and they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals.
In the top order, only Mohammad Saad (69) managed to hold things together as he steered his way to another half-century in the tournament.
Salman Butt, Abid Ali and Adil Amin once again failed with the bat and the batting side was restricted to 143-5 at one stage. After that, the centurion in the last match Khushdil Shah once again showed why he’s regarded as one of the most talented young players around. Khushdil scored 100 off just 66 balls and took his team from 143-5 to a massive total of 300.
For Sindh, Mohammad Ilyas was on his List A debut and he took 3 wickets for 66 runs. In reply, the batsmen of Sindh started well but Sahibzada Farhan fell for just 22 giving KPK their first breakthrough with just 38 on the board.
Umar Siddiq displayed amazing and elegant stroke-play once again and he played extremely well for his 69 which included 10 fours.
Umar Amin (32) and Asif Ali (42) also tried their best to rescue their team but both of them got out after getting a start in their innings.
However, Imran Rafiq (61) made sure that his team fight till the end but Hammad Azam with his 24 runs tried his best to support Rafiq in their chase of 300 but the brilliance of Wahab Riaz, Umaid Asif and Zohaib Khan restricted them to 291-9. KPK won the match by 9 runs.
