Australian fast bowling department has been featuring some new faces during the recent couple of tours after Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood were ruled out of the game due to their injuries.
In a recent interview, Hazlewood has revealed that he is completely fit and is ready to play for Australia again, however, he is not sure if he would be selected for the World Cup squad as reports suggest that the pacer might be rested till the Ashes which starts after the mega event.
“To be fit and ready for that first Ashes Test, you have to have a lot of bowling under your belt anyway. There can’t be a better spot to do that than in a World Cup. One-day cricket, a couple of games a week for five or six weeks is probably perfect prep in terms of body load. Hopefully, I’m there and we can hold on to the trophy,” he said in response to such reports.
