In the top of the table clash in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings thumped Kolkata Knight Riders. Winning the toss, Chennai invited Kolkata to bat first on a tricky pitch. The flamboyant style of KKR didn’t help their cause as the team was folded for a paltry total of 108.
In reply, Chennai’s batters didn’t enjoy a walk in the park as Kolkata’s bowling department tested the home team, but Chennai eventually got over the line in the 18th over of the innings.
KKR’s skipper Dinesh Karthik wasn’t too baffled with his team’s display as he believes that a bad day doesn’t define his team’s journey. The 33-year old cricketer also advised his team to forget the night as he backed them to come back hard in their next game against Delhi Capitals on April 12.
“Obviously, it wasn’t an ideal batting performance. I’m pleased with the way my bowlers responded despite defending a small total. Every day is a new day and we would look to bring our best game forward in the remaining games,” said by the Chennai born cricketer.
