It was all looking great for Kings XI Punjab as their openers took the Mumbai bowlers to the cleaners. Lokesh Rahul (100) registered yet another century in the T20 format as he took his team to a mammoth total of 197 with the help of Christopher Henry Gayle (63).
In reply, things were looking in favor of the Kings XI Punjab until Pollard stepped out to bat. At 62-3 inside ten overs, nobody gave Mumbai Indians a bright chance of winning the match. However, the tall Caribbean guy had something else in his plans.
Kieron Pollard scored 83 off just 31 with 3 fours and 10 gigantic sixes. Pollard took his team from nowhere and took them to the last over where they needed just under 10 runs.
After Pollard got out, his counterpart Alzarri Joseph batted responsibly and scored 15 off 13 with two fours to make sure Mumbai gets over the line without any trouble.
