With cricket’s biggest tournament, ICC World Cup only seven weeks away, the Pakistan camp has been jolted with an injury blow. According to sources, all-rounder Imad Wasim has damaged his knee.
It is reported that when Imad started training for the Yo-Yo test, he realized pain in his right knee as he twister his knee. The all-rounder’s knee treatment has been started in the NCA and he will go to a fitness test before the World Cup to prove his fitness.
Imad recently made a comeback to the team after being away from the team due to similar injury. In the recently concluded ODI series with Australia, he even captained Pakistan side in last two matches in the absence of Shoaib Malik.
The 30-year-old showed his form with the bat against Australia and his ability to bowl at the start of the innings as well as in the middle overs means he could be a handy weapon for Sarfaraz Ahmed in England, especially if the ball starts to grip in the surface.
