Gillespie sees bright prospects for Australia in the World Cup

Managing to pull sensational victories against Pakistan and India in sub-continent, Australia has recaptured the winning track just ahead of the World Cup event. While the previous year saw them getting thumped in ODIs, the recent displays have forced many to reconsider them as a major contender for winning the title.

Former Australian pacer Jason Gillespie was found shedding light on Australia’s chances in the upcoming mega-event to be hosted by England and Wales.

The 43-year old cricketer said that the yellow team knows the art of winning the major tournaments which would stand them in good stead.

In addition to that, the New South Wales-born feels that the recent wins will certainly boost the confidence of the national team and Australia’s ability to raise the bar of their game in big tournaments would continuously play at the back of the mind of all the other teams. In the books of Gillespie, writing Australia off for the forthcoming 50-over event would be a grave mistake.
