Mahendra Singh Dhoni is perhaps considered as one of the calmest captains in the world. The former Indian captain hardly shows any emotions on the field and plays the game with a lot of integrity and respect.
However, in the last night’s encounter between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) fans witnessed an extremely unseen version of MS Dhoni.
After Dhoni got out in the last over to Ben Stokes, Chennai still needed 6 off the last 2 balls and the skipper left the crease. But what followed was a bizarre incident which hardly ever happened on a cricket field before.
Ben Stokes bowled a full toss and the umpire straight away gave it a no-ball but a few seconds later, the field umpires overturned the decision and the no-ball wasn’t given.
Dhoni was standing at the boundary rope and after the umpires overturned their decision, Dhoni stepped into the playing area and had a heated discussion with the umpires.
Everyone was seeing Dhoni so angry for the first time on a cricket field. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain has been fined 50% of the match fees.
However, the very next ball Stokes bowled a wide and was smacked for a six by Mitchell Santner on the next ball to seal the game for CSK.
