Pakistan’s cricket fanatics are in for a huge treat as they will be witnessing their team play a Test match at home after a gap of almost 10 years.
According to sources, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is all set to host Sri Lanka in Test cricket after a gap of almost 10 years. PCB has held successful talks with Sri Lanka Cricket and convinced them to play two Test matches of the World’s ICC Test Championship in Lahore and Karachi respectively. The schedule of the matches would be revealed later.
ICC has indicated that it will have no objection if both the boards decided to stage the series in Pakistan after being satisfied with the security arrangements for the eight matches of PSL in Karachi.
Pakistan last hosted a Test match in Pakistan in 2009 against Sri Lanka before the infamous terrorist attack on Sri Lankan team bus, which left Pakistan devoid of any cricketing action for several years.
Furthermore, PCB is also making efforts to convince Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play their Test Championship matches in Pakistan.
