Express speed merchant Haris Rauf was one of the immediate finds of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season four. The silver lining in Lahore Qalandars’ abysmal PSL campaign, Rauf’s impressive ability to dart in fiery thunderbolts aimed at the batsmen’s feet at a speed touching the 150 kph mark surprised everyone.
Graduating from a ‘tape-ball’ player just a year back to now excelling in competitive cricket, Rauf’s journey has been surely inspirational. Getting his debut cap in List A cricket in the recent Pakistan Cup, Rauf expressed his happiness at the constant upward trajectory his career has been travelling thus far.
He credited his experience of playing club cricket in Australia as the pivotal learning point in his nascent career. He also revealed that legendary pace duo Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram also extended support to Rauf’s talent and this appreciation has doubled the confidence of the youngster.
He thus believed that this persistent support from Lahore Qalandars management and cricketing greats like Waqar and Wasim has elevated his spirits to a point where he does not feel pressure while performing in the field.
