Gary Kirsten is a former South African cricketer, and the World Cup winning coach of the Indian cricket team. He has played 101 Test matches and 185 One Day Internationals for South Africa between 1993 and 2004, mainly as an opening batsman.
He was the coach of Indian cricket team from 2008-2011. He was appointed as the coach of the South African cricket team in June 2011 and he stepped down in August 2013.
Gary talked about Indian team, how they got better and better through Cricket World Cup 2011. He said, "We just had too many good players."
India has always been a strong cricket team, they showed what they are capable of in World Cup 2011. India played a sensational quarter final against Australia and won by 5 wickets which was the biggest step towards their goal.
Their semi-final was against the biggest rival Pakistan, in which they were able to won the match by 29 runs and made it to the final which was to be played against Sri Lanka.
India beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets with 10 balls remaining and lifted the World Cup Trophy after 28 long years under the captaincy of Mr. Cool, Mahindra Singh Dhoni.
