Ambrose not happy with an early return of Smith and Warner

Former Australian captain and vice-captain, Steve Smith and David Warner, are expected to make a return to international cricket in this year’s World Cup in England after completing their 1-year bans in March.

However, former West Indian fast bowler Curtly Ambrose feels that both the players have gotten away with murder as the offence of ball-tampering is a big deal in cricket.

“When you break the law like that you should be punished. I honestly thought they got away with murder. A year was a little bit lenient. I would have said two years just to send a message because it was stupid really,” he said.

However, he thinks that the whole episode would have taught them the lesson to never indulge in such conduct ever again.
