The all-rounder spot in the Pakistan cricket team is currently being filed by players like Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, and Imad Wasim as they often chip in whenever given the opportunity to bat apart from being very good with
However, there have been instances in recent times when Pakistan team featured some new faces in the allrounder spot especially when the regular members got injured. Aamer Yamin is one such player who has replaced Faheem on a couple of occasions and has done well at the big stage.
Comparing the career statistics of both the players, it could be seen that Yamin has an edge over Faheem due to his batting as he averages 37, 24 and 17 in first-class, List-A, and T20 cricket as compared to his counterpart who averages 29, 17, and 17 in the above-mentioned formats respectively.
When it comes to bowling, Faheem seems like a much potent option as he often provides the captain with important breakthroughs in limited overs cricket. His bowling averages with the ball are far better than Aamer who averages 25, 35, and 31 in first-class, List-A, and T20 cricket respectively.
Faheem is often preferred over Aamer because of his extra pace and bounce that he generates off the surface. Nonetheless, both the players have their own strengths and weaknesses, but it is the requirements of the team which decides who to play in a certain game.
