West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard recently played one of the most brutal innings of his career as he decimated the Kings XI Punjab bowling in Mumbai, helping the Mumbai Indians (MI) win from an almost impossible position.
Speaking with the media after the game, Pollard said that he always steps on the cricket field with a focused mind which helps him in doing the best for his side, however, he does hope that his performances in the IPL strengthen his case for the upcoming World Cup.
“The most I can do every time I step on the cricket field is try to put runs on the board. There are people there who have the job to select, and let's see how that goes. I'm 31 years old, Chris Gayle is still playing, he's 39, and he's whacking it all around,” he said when asked about his chances of playing the World Cup for West Indies.
