Flat tracks have been the theme of the Pakistan Cup 2019, with batsmen flourishing in the helpful conditions. This refreshing change from the green pitches prevalent during Quaid-e-Azam Trophy has been praised by senior batsman Khurram Manzoor, who believes such decks will pave the pathway for improvement in Pakistan cricket.
“Tournaments with good pitches like this year's Pakistan Cup will improve Pakistan cricket. 350 score in one-day is now the requirement of international standards.
Such pitches test a batsman regarding how to bat under pressure and also tests bowlers how to restrict score under pressure,” he said.
Manzoor heaped praise on the groundsmen, for preparing such tracks, which will even out the contest between bat and ball and looked up to neighboring country India as a model for playing domestic cricket on similar pitches.
