After Quetta Gladiators won the Pakistan Super League (PSL), fans expected the provincial team to claim the title of Pakistan Cup. However, brilliant death bowling from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s bowlers denied Balochistan of a victory in the final of the tournament.
Middle-order batsman Asad Shafiq led Balochistan extremely well throughout the tournament but Salman Butt’s experience edged past him as the former captain used his bowlers extremely well to restrict Balochistan despite being in a strong positon.
Decoding the loss, the stylish batsman said that the dismissals of set batsmen proved to be the turning point of the game. Asad particularly highlighted the form of flamboyant batsman Umar Akmal who was in top form as he believes that few more overs of Umar’s stay could have helped Balochistan pocket the game.
The Karachi born cricketer was crestfallen to taste defeat in the final of the tournament as he was optimistic to see his team lifting the trophy but he gathered a great experience playing in such a competition.
