Opening batsman of the U-19 World Cup winning squad of India, Shubman Gill is said to be next big thing in Indian cricket as many greats have hailed him as a star for the future. The youngster recently smashed his 2nd fifty in the Indian Premier League (IPL) against Delhi Capitals (DC).
After the loss of Joe Denly on the first ball of the match, Gill showed great composure and settled nerves in the middle with his sensible stroke play and calculated risks. During his 39 balls 65, Gill smashed 7 boundaries along with clearing the rope on 2 occasions.
It was the first time that the 19-year-old was playing in the top order as he had been batting in the late middle order previously for KKR.
After seeing him bat at his normal position, fans were highly impressed with his skills and temperament meanwhile they also slammed the franchise for wasting the talented opening batsman down the order.
