England’s limited-overs captain, Eoin Morgan believes Pakistan is the ‘second or third’ favourites for the 2019 World Cup after winning the Champions Trophy in England two years ago. The spirited Pakistani side defeated hosts England in the semi-finals before beating arch-rivals India in the final to lift the Champions Trophy in 2017.
“It’s a nice way to ease into the summer and get some really good, competitive cricket going. Pakistan is probably second or third favourites for the tournament. They hold the Champions Trophy – playing extremely well to win that, in England – so it’s a series we’re all looking forward to,” Morgan said.
Pakistan was humiliated by a visiting Australian team by 5-0 in the ODI series in UAE but the Men in Green are looking to find form in the series against England starting on 5th May just before the mega event.
