The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were up against a strong Chennai side and both the teams had played some cracking matches against each other in the past.
The fans were set to witness another dramatic thriller as KKR batted first and scored 161-8 in their 20 overs.
Chris Lynn (82) was back in form for the men in purple as he plundered his first half-century of the season. Imran Tahir took 4-27 for CSK including the wickets of Lynn and Russell.
