Aging like fine wine, AB de Villiers has only ascended to an otherworldly level of brilliance with the progression of his career. Having retired from international cricket last year, the Proteas great does not look a little bit rusty as his classy strokes have been a common feature in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL).
It doesn’t matter which kit he dons, as Mr. 360 has developed a reputation of being an absolute master blaster with the bat in hand. Scoring the fourth half-century this season for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), AB was in full flow versus Mumbai Indians.
Following a struggling start to RCB’s innings, de Villiers tightly held the proceedings as he flourished in his merry journey of run-making. Milking out 4 massive sixes and 6 fours, AB’s enterprising knock of 75 from 51 balls delivered RCB the impetus to finish on a challenging total.
However, luck was once again not on RCB’s side, as AB’s monumental effort ended up on the losing side.
