Bangladesh’s hopes for a good show in the ICC World Cup have been hit by injuries to several key players, with star pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman being the latest casualty.

The 23-year-old left arm bowler sprained his ankle during a Dhaka Premier League game and could be sidelined for two week. While he is expected to be named in the squad for the World Cup, he could miss the initial stages of a pre-tournament training camp.

Among the batsmen, Mushfiqur Rahim, who suffered a broken rib-cage in the Asia Cup, is still not fully recovered and requires rest according to reports.

Middle-order batsman, Mahmudullah aggravated a shoulder injury during the recent tour of New Zealand and only returned to tentative training last week while fast bowler Rubel Hossain has also been suffering from a side strain.
