Results of the first phase of Yo-Yo tests revealed

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has conducted fitness tests of the 23 World Cup probables in the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan completely aced the Yo-Yo test as he scored highest, 20, points. According to reports, all-rounder Imad Wasim, Yasir Shah and Mohammed Hasnain, all have failed to touch the fitness benchmark of 17.4. Opener Abid Ali’s hopes of representing Pakistan at the World Cup could be ruined after he only managed to get 17.1 points.

The most satisfying news for Pakistan is that Mohammad Hafeez who is recovering from his thumb injury has passed the injury test and is truly on course to represent Pakistan in the World Cup. The senior all-rounder is very crucial for Pakistan in providing the right balance for the team.

Furthermore, skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir have also passed their fitness test with 18 points each. Fast bowler Hasan Ali and opener Shan Masood bagged 19 points in the test as they are highly likely to travel along with the team on April 23.

The team management has already made it clear that players who will fail to clear the test, will not be selected for the World Cup in England and Wales.
