Amla's poor run of form casts doubt over his selection

The much-anticipated announcement of the South Africa's 15-men World Cup squad looms larger than ever, with Cricket South Africa set to reveal the squad that will take part in the cricket's biggest tournament in England and Wales.

The major selection headache for selectors remains what to do with senior batsman, Hashim Amla. The 36-year-old has only just returned to top-flight cricket after a month out due to personal reasons - his father has been critically ill - but there are no guarantees that he will be in the final 15.

Amla's poor run of form is a worrying sign as he only scored 51 runs in the Proteas shocking 0-2 loss to Sri Lanka in a two-Test series at home recently and also did not play the first three ODIs, even though it was said that he was not dropped.
