Sri Lankan management made an astonishing decision recently when they made Dimuth Karunaratne as Sri Lanka's captain for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The left-handed batsman last played ODI for Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup 2015 against England.
He made a comeback in Sri Lanka's ODI side after a gap of 4 years and straightaway named as the captain of the side. Karunaratne has played only 17 ODIs for Sri Lanka and averages only 15.83.
He recently captained Sri Lanka to a famous Test series win against South Africa. Sri Lanka has made a lot of changes in its ODI's captaincy rank recently with Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews, and Dinesh Chandimal occupying the prime spot in the last four months or so.
