Anwar Ali caught the imagination of the cricketing world when he spurred onto the limelight with his magnificent spell in the ICC Under-19 World Cup final against India. Since then, his sporting journey has been a bag of mixed emotions, having to cope with numerous injuries that threatened to cut short his career.
Competing hard in the domestic circuit to get back into the national side, Anwar has been a regular feature for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Part of the winning squad for this year’s PSL, Anwar however succumbed to a detrimental heel injury recently.
Undergoing a successful operation in the UK, the right-arm pacer is positive in his path to recovery. He will currently be observing a rehabilitation period under the supervision of an expert team of doctors, before returning to Pakistan.
