Bangladesh recently announced their 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament scheduled to be played in England and Wales. Tamim Iqbal, one of the most senior cricketers and a batting pillar of the side, would be witnessed playing his fourth World Cup event.
With the mega-event knocking on the doors, all the players are aiming to be in best shape to bring glory to their nation. The swashbuckling Bangladeshi opening batsman is no exception. However, he took some time to reflect on his team’s prospects for a major 50-over tournament.
The proficient batsman revealed that he carries immense confidence in his team as it is always about playing as a unit. Moreover, the 30-year old added that it doesn’t matter who plays or who sits out, there should always be backing for the team and not for the individuals.
“I believe in my team but not the faces. It doesn’t matter whoever is playing, I always count on my team. Will people stop believing in the team if there is no Shakib, Mashrafe or Mushfiq in it? It should never work that way,” said by the Chittagong born batsman.
