The appointment of Wasim Khan as the Managing Director (MD) of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has attracted backlash. The move also witnessed the adjourning of a Board of Governors (BoG) meeting which was postponed as the members moved to call this post an unconstitutional activity.
The legend of the game, Javed Miandad
Former Pakistan cricket and a legend of the game Javed Miandad has also jumped on the bandwagon to blast at the governing body of cricket in Pakistan. The Karachi born has expressed his concerns over the appointment as he believes that a Pakistani resident should have been given the task of improving the domestic cricket.
Reflecting on the current situation, the 61-year old added that there isn’t a dearth of locals who are good at managing our cricket and the appointment of a foreigner isn’t a wise move. Furthermore, Javed feels that since a hefty amount is paid to the PCB MD, it is natural to have the resident of Pakistan getting it.
