Ever since Afghanistan’s spin champion Rashid Khan made an entry into world cricket, he has been a class apart from the rest. Generating unprecedented levels of success wherever he plays, Rashid has also left his mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he continues to be a key member of the Sunrisers Hyderabad lineup.
Once again showing his class with an exceptional spell of 2/13 in 4 overs versus Chennai Super Kings, Rashid’s skillful display and aggressive attitude on the field has greatly impressed Australian speedster Shaun Tait. In a recent show, Tait drew parallels between Rashid and the legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne, owing to their attacking nature.
Tait claimed that the way Rashid is always trying to get into the batsman’s head and putting immense pressure on his opponent, resembles the tactics that Warne used to employ. Although there is still a long way to go for Rashid to reach Warne’s level of excellence, he could surely accomplish that.
