Pakistan’s selection committee recently announced their 15-member squad for the ICC World Cup scheduled to begin in England and Wales next month, ending all speculations over the final configurations of the team combination.
Although the usual names featured in the list, the case of Mohammad Rizwan’s removal from the squad gives out mixed vibes. The agile wicketkeeper-batsman had just last month struck 2 centuries versus Australia, strengthening his chances for a spot in the side and he had also topped the fitness test among the 23 probables.
His omission has thus not been welcomed by cricket fans, who have voiced their frustrations on Twitter. Several online users have proceeded to slam the selection committee for selecting the rookie batsman Abid Ali over Rizwan, who possesses more experience.
