The 15-member World Cup squad of the Pakistan cricket team has been a surprise for many as the exclusion of Mohammad Amir and Asif Ali has not pleased the fans. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has preferred newly capped players like Abid Ali and Mohammad Hasnain for the mega event instead.
However, Amir and Asif have been given another chance by the management as they have been included in the 17-member squad for the England series. The squad might still be changed depending upon the performance of players in the 5-match series prior to the World Cup.
The decision to exclude Amir from the side has not been welcomed by the fans as many feel that the pacer would be needed on the English soil keeping in mind his previous record in big tournaments while Asif’s exclusion has raised questions regarding the late order batting of Pakistan which lacks a true power hitter.
