Having made his debut a little over in first-class cricket, Pakistan cricket’s golden boy Shaheen Afridi has already established his place among the best pacers around the world. A remarkable journey that spells out the immense talent the young left-armer possesses, this has been an unforgettable turnaround for Shaheen whose nascent career has thus far experienced only a swift upward trajectory.
At just 19 years of age, he forms the core of Pakistan’s pace quartet selected for the World Cup in England and Wales later this summer. Hailing from Khyber Agency, he has exponentially grown in his skillset in such a short span of time, espousing great levels of maturity that has allowed him to scale tremendous heights.
Shaheeh made his first-class debut late in 2017, picking up 9 wickets in his first ever 4-day game. 2018 then turned out to be the most memorable period of 12 months for the lanky bowler. He first participated in the Under-19 World Cup, after which he performed exuberantly in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). That very summer, Shaheen made his international debut and now he is on his way to making his country proud in the upcoming World Cup.
