Pakistani fast bowler Mir Hamza has started off his List A career in the English county circuit in a successful fashion. The 26-year-old has made a record breaking debut for Sussex in the ongoing Royal One-Day Cup.
On his first appearance in the 50-overs circuit, Hamza ended up with figures of 4 for 43 against Surrey which is a record in itself as no other bowler has taken a 4 for on his List-A debut for the county.
The left-armer removed key batsmen including Jason Roy, Ben Foakes, Ollie Pope, and Tom Curran during his spell. Sussex coach Jason Gillespie also applauded the performance by ‘The Hammer’, Hamza’s nickname given by his teammates.
