The Pakistan World Cup squad, along with PCB chairman Ehsan Mani, chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq and head coach Mickey Arthur met Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad. Imran Khan motivated and shared useful tips to the players for winning the coveted ICC World Cup trophy.
Prime Minister Khan, who is also the patron-in-chief of PCB, offered advice to the players on how to prepare for the World Cup along with expressing his confidence in them.
“It is a big responsibility on you guys to represent your country in a tournament like World Cup. You are ambassadors of Pakistan and all eyes are on you. You need to be so strong that marks achievement for the country,” Imran said to the players.
He further asked the players to show sportsmanship and requested that they shouldn’t try to do anything which harms the country’s image. “When you are representing your country then your each and every step is under consideration,” he added.
The cricketer-turned-politician had led Pakistan to its only World Cup win in 1992, where the team defeated England by 22 runs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the final.
