The ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has faced a couple of controversies so far ranging from umpiring errors to the mankad incident. Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin was at the center of the whole mankad episode.
Since that incident, batsmen have been extra careful regarding leaving the crease earlier as bowlers could run them out according to laws which have now existed for years.
In the recent game between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Delhi opener Shikhar Dhawan was given one warning by Ashwin even while he was still in his crease. However, on the next delivery, Dhawan tried to tease the spinner by getting out of the crease willingly with his bat still inside, producing a loud cheer among the fans in the stadium.
