Ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, Pakistan has been hurt with a major blow as their premier spinner Shadab Khan has been ruled out of the England tour. The dexterous all-rounder is reported to be suffering from a virus which is expected to take at least four weeks of treatment.
While Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) refrained from revealing the exact nature of the illness, sources report that the Islamabad United player is carrying the Hepatitis C virus. The news came as a major heartbreak for fans and the fellow cricketers who were backing the 20-year old cricketer to go well in the 50-over tournament. The dearth of a specialist spinner in the squad of Pakistan makes it even more troubling news.
Reacting to the tragic news, veteran cricketer Mohammad Hafeez, like all others, wished a speedy recovery to the energetic cricketer of Pakistan. Furthermore, the 38-year old cricketer added that Shadab is carrying millions of prayers with him and hopefully he would don the green jersey of Pakistan very soon.
