Pakistan’s left-arm pacer, Mohammad Amir has been left out of Pakistan’s World Cup squad but included in the squad to face England in the ODI and T20 series just before the ICC’s mega event. Amir’s exclusion came as a surprise because the majority of the pundits and ex-players suggested Amir would be lethal in England conditions.
In the recent meeting of Pakistan’s World Cup squad with Prime Minister Imran Khan, the legendary cricketer shared valuable tips to all players. During this time, PM Khan expressed his concern about Amir’s recent bowling form and questioned his fitness to which he advised Amir to work on his fitness.
“Try to improve your fitness and you will start getting the wickets,” Imran Khan told Amir. Since the Champions Trophy 2017, Amir has managed to take just five wickets at an average of 92.60, the poorest numbers for any bowler who has bowled over 600 balls in this time frame.
