The latest addition to the influx of exciting T20 tournaments, the Last Man Stands (LMS) Capital Championship has come to an end in the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium with Ali Tareen’s Lodhran Warriors being crowned as the title-winners.
The captivating final that saw the eventual champions triumph by a thin margin of 14 runs, was witnessed by noted celebrities including senior wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal. Lauding the efforts of PSL franchise Multan Sultans co-owned by Ali Tareen, in sponsoring this tournament and providing a wonderful initiative for grassroots cricket, Akmal penned a special tweet for Tareen.
Pleased at seeing new talent readily emerge from the corners of the country, Akmal was impressed by the shining performances displayed in the LMS Capital Championship. The final saw Lodhran’s Shoaib Qalander dominate the proceedings with an exceptional all-round show, scoring a fifty in 23 balls and taking 3 wickets in his 4-overs spell versus Sialkot Jaguars.
