Pakistan has been blessed with a variety of spin options in their squad for the World Cup in England and Wales next month. Although Shadab Khan is currently down with a viral fever, his imminent return alongside Imad Wasim could form a potent spin combination.
Furthermore, the spin duties of Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik offer captain Sarfaraz Ahmed a range of bowling choices. While Hafeez has not been hugely effective since his remodeled bowling action and Malik has rarely bowled in recent times, head coach Mickey Arthur believes the two can play their part in fulfilling off-spin responsibilities.
Speaking to the press, Mickey expressed full confidence in Hafeez and Malik’s bowling skills, and believed they could come in handy in completing the 5th bowler’s quota of overs, if there arises a need to extend the batting depth.
