South African speedster Dale Steyn has become part of the Indian Premier League (IPL) once again after Nathan Coulter Nile’s injury freed up space for him in the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad.
The pacer has proven to be the lucky charm of RCB as the franchise has started to win games as soon as he joined them. Steyn’s match-winning spell in the recent fixture against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) received acclaim from several greats of the game.
Proteas team performance analyst recently tossed up the suggestion of having Jofra Archer, Jasprit Bumrah, Kagiso Rabada, Imran Tahir, and Ravichandran Ashwin in the same team.
Steyn did not let the opportunity pass as he took a jibe at Ashwin by mentioning his specific role in such a side. He said that Bumrah would uproot stumps, Rabada would induce catches, Tahir would get leg before wickets dismissals, and Ashwin would mankad the opposition batters. Steyn has condemned the actions of the Kings XI spinner before as well as he said that Ashwin violated the spirit of cricket by mankading Jos Buttler.
