The Pakistan cricket team has departed for England for the upcoming ODI series against the hosts before the all-important ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. The green shirts are being considered as one of the tournament favourites this year.
Experienced all-rounder Shoaib Malik would be playing the last World Cup of his career as he wants to finish his career on a high and add World Cup trophy to his cabinet which has all other major ICC titles.
“I don't focus on what is being said about me, but rather focus on how I can perform on consistent basis. If I think this is my last World Cup, I wouldn't not do well. Rather, I am going to take it as if I am beginning my career,” he said.
Moreover, he also feels that the mega event would be an open tournament and no team could be termed as a favourite right now.
