The news of Shadab Khan’s illness jolted Pakistan’s camp, just as the team was preparing to fly to England and Wales for the limited overs series, followed by the ICC World Cup. Shadab’s blood test revealed a virus that will require treatment and rest for at least four weeks.
Keeping the grave situation in mind, the Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to take up the best treatment for Shadab. Therefore, PCB has decided that Shadab will undergo treatment in England under the supervision of Dr. Patrick Kennedy, a Clinical Senior Lecturer & Consultant Hepatologist.
Meanwhile, leg-spinner Yasir Shah has been named Shadab’s replacement for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against England, which will be played from 5-19 May.
