Shoaib Malik gets backing from Chief Selector

The former captain of the Pakistan cricket team and senior member of the current side, Shoaib Malik, would play his last World Cup along with veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez who would also retire after the mega event this year.

Malik has been part of the national setup for almost 2 decades, but he has only played 2 World Cups and he wants to finish his career on a high by winning the only major ICC trophy missing from his cabinet.

Chief Selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has also thrown full support behind the veteran cricketer as he is hopeful that Malik would utilize his experience and help the national side in the World Cup even though he has not performed well in recent years.

Moreover, Inzamam also said that Malik has the ability to win matches for Pakistan and he hopes to see much better performances from him in England as opposed to his previous record in the country.
