Young left-arm pacer Mir Hamza has been a hot property in Pakistan’s domestic circuit for quite some time. Averaging an astonishing 18.56 across 61 first-class games, Hamza’s talent surely knows no bounds and he could well be part of Pakistan’s international setup in the coming years.
Having made his debut appearance in Test cricket last year, Hamza aims to prolong his association with the Pakistan team. In a bid to expand his skillset and acquire crucial experience of challenging overseas conditions, Hamza contracted with Sussex for the County season. Talking about his ongoing stint with the County side, Hamza promised to return to Pakistan as a better bowler in a few months.
“As I am used to flatter tracks back home, bowling on bowler-friendly tracks away from home does become easier so this will be a good opportunity for me to impress. Playing in England is a dream come true for me and I hope to leave for Pakistan in a few months’ time a transformed and better cricketer,” he explained his intentions.
