The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced the national squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup which is scheduled to be held in England and Wales later this year.
Former Indian top-order batsman Rahul Dravid believes that the blue shirts have a well-balanced squad for the mega event this time around and it would not matter who defeated them before the World Cup once they win that trophy.
“In the last 30 months, India has been playing really well, and the loss, much to the credit the way Australia played, came at the back end of a very busy series. We have the right combination for the World Cup. There will be an odd series that India will lose. But the rankings prove that India is there and should win the World Cup to become No.1,” he said.
The veteran also said that the omission of some of the consistent members of the side would not matter once India starts doing well in the tournament as they already have great balance in their squad.
