The Pakistan cricket team has started training in Kent for the upcoming ODI series against England which would lead up to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 by the end of May. The management is quite keen on finalizing the team combinations in the build-up series.
Former Pakistani speedster and member of the World Cup winning squad of 1992, Aaqib Javed believes that the green shirts would rely heavily on the all-rounders, Faheem Ashraf and Imad Wasim, in order to do well in the upcoming World Cup.
“I’m optimistic about Pakistan’s chances at the World Cup because of our past record in England. All-rounders like Imad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf batting at number seven and eight will help Pakistan in crucial run-chases,” he said.
Furthermore, he also said that Mohammad Hafeez would be crucial for Pakistan as he would need to step up in bowling as well as batting.
