All is not for fast-bowler, Mohammad Amir as he still has a chance to gain his place in the World Cup squad, insists Chief Selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq. According to Inzamam, the fast-bowler can still make it to the final WC squad if he performs well in the series against England.
The left-arm fast bowler, who was the protagonist in Pakistan’s Champions Trophy triumph against arch-rivals India, has been axed from the preliminary World Cup squad, which raised eyebrows around the world.
“We still have a chance to select Mohammad Amir. He is a senior bowler and has got quality, if he gets his form back and performs well in the England series then we can consider him,” said Inzamam. However, the Chief Selector dismisses the notion that Amir should be selected for the World Cup just on the basis of his experience.
