Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has revealed that veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez is progressing in his path towards recovery and could very well be featuring in the upcoming ODI series against England. Hafeez was troubled by a thumb fracture earlier this year during the Pakistan Super League (PSL), while fielding the ball off his own delivery.
Since then, the 38-year-old has had two operations and is striving hard to maintain good levels of fitness. He, nevertheless, was able to make a spot in Pakistan’s World Cup squad last week after performing on the requisite level in the Yo-Yo test.
“He [Hafeez] has bowled and he has fielded. Hafeez is ahead of where we want him and that’s great news. He has been doing a lot of work so don’t rule out Hafeez in the one-day series,” Mickey claimed following a practice session ahead of the series versus England.
