Court to hear voter ID fraud case against Gautam Gambhir

Cricketers taking part in elections is now becoming a norm after Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup hero Imran Khan became Prime Minister of the country. Similarly, Gautam Gambhir is also actively taking part in India’s general elections and is often in the spotlight for openly voicing his opinions on social media.

However, Gautam is facing a setback in his nascent political career as the opposing Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate, Atishi Marlena, filed a criminal complaint against her BJP opponent, accusing him of enrolling himself as a voter in two constituencies.

Ms. Atishi claimed that Gautam is a registered voter in Delhi's Karol Bagh as well as Rajinder Nagar, both of which fall under the Central Delhi parliamentary seat. The court is thus set to hear this case against the former opening batsman soon.
