The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are undoubtedly the most successful franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as they have won the title 3 times apart from finishing as the runners-up on 4 occasions.
The yellow shirts currently reside at the top of the points table in the ongoing IPL season which means that they are likely to make it to the playoffs this year as well. Former Australian skipper Dean Jones recently revealed why CSK are the best side in the tournament.
He revealed that the CSK bowling has the best economy rates in the mid and final part of the innings in this year’s tournament which has led them to defend low totals and restrict sides to low scores.
According to statistics, Chennai have given just 6.7 runs per over during the overs 7 to 15 which is called the middle phase of an innings. Furthermore, they have an economy of just 8.4 runs in the final 5 overs of the innings which is also the lowest among all teams.
